Standard-Keto Nutrition Program

This program is very similar to others, except Phoenix One Health Solutions will set your Macros for the best results based on your lean muscle mass. This is the safest way maintain a keto program that will preserve your muscles.

Programs like Atkins is high fat. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain function. However, if little carbohydrate remains in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. Once ketosis has started working, then your body is forced to burn fat for energy.

The trick is to know your personal set of keto macros to prevent muscle loss. A great starting point for a ketogenic diet is one that is also Paleo—that is, full of nutrient-dense whole foods rather than an abundance of packaged, processed “keto treats.” While there is certainly room for the occasional keto dessert or snack, a diet largely comprised of satisfying whole foods is a great framework to test your tolerances and macronutrient needs.

While more and more people are incorporating a keto diet for fat loss and cognitive benefits, the ketogenic diet was first adopted to treat specific illnesses such as epilepsy, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease. If you have a history of these issues in your family or are dealing with chronic disease yourself, it may be worth speaking with your doctor—or a functional medicine physician who is educated in nutrition—about your options. 

Keto-Plus Nutrition Program

This specialized keto program keeps you in a keto phase for five days, let’s say Monday to Friday, then pull you out for two days. We do this due to most people can go without carbs for five days with no issues of breaking their diet. Then we will set the total amount of carbs that you can eat on Saturday and Sunday. On both parts of this program, your macros will be set for you so you will not over, or under-eat.

Keto-Plus is a lean mass building program that most people enjoy following. Now to maximize autophagy, fat loss, optimal cognition, and metabolic flexibility, and still work in strategic refeeds of carbohydrates to boost energy for training on the weekends. And, yes, that means you can enjoy the occasional higher carb meals, cycle in and out of ketosis while enjoying a more balanced diet on your “days off.”

One keto cycling approach includes five days of the traditional keto diet and two non-keto days per week. Some people choose to save their off days for special occasions holidays, birthdays, and vacations. For best results, eat wholesome carbohydrate-rich foods on your off days, including fruits, starchy veggies, dairy products, and whole grains (rather than added sugars or highly processed fare).

Keto-Rotation Nutrition Program

Keto Rotation is a unique program that each phase lasts for four weeks. The client will enter the nutrition program in a Low Carb phase for the first month to get their body adjusted to a diet. In this phase, we are bringing down the carb levels just enough to keep them out of a standard keto program but forcing the body to rely on glycogen as its primary energy source.

Going onto the Standard-Keto phase in the second month, from this point we drop all carbs except vegetables. Based on the lean muscle mass of the client, the proper amount of proteins and fats will be assigned for the next four weeks and forcing the body to burn fat for energy. Now it’s time for Advanced-Keto for the last month.

Advanced-Keto

With Advance-Keto we increase the proteins and drop the healthy fat with the proper adjustments of their Marcos and lean muscle mass. Many people find this modified keto diet easier to follow because it allows you to eat more protein and less fat than the standard keto diet. The caveat is that this approach may not result in ketosis, because like carbs, protein can be converted into glucose for fuel. But the high-protein keto diet will generally result in weight loss.
